A mű Ippolito Galantiniről (1565–1619), egy firenzei takács fiáról szól, aki életét a hitoktatásnak szentelte. Bár világi hívő maradt, Alessandro de' Medici érsek a keresztény tanítás oktatásával bízta meg mély elkötelezettsége miatt. Szigorú aszkéta életmódot folytatott: sokat böjtölt, keveset aludt, és követőket gyűjtött maga köré, akikkel megalapította a Keresztény Tanítás Kongregációját. Csodatévő hírében állt, számos próbatételt és üldöztetést állt ki türelemmel. 1825-ben avatták boldoggá.

A végére kötött 14 oldalas, jegyzetfüzetként funkcionáló lapokon az egykori tulajdonos megjegyzései és rajzai láthatóak.

Work on the life of Ippolito Galantini (1565–1619), son of a Florentine weaver, who dedicated his life to teaching the Christian doctrine. Despite being a layman, Archbishop Alessandro de' Medici entrusted him with catechesis due to his immense devotion. He lived a life of extreme asceticism, characterized by fasting and minimal sleep, while gathering a circle of followers. He founded the Congregation of Christian Doctrine to formalize religious education. Known as a wonderworker, he was celebrated for his miracles and his resilience during persecutions. He was beatified in 1825.
