A kép alatt külön paszpartuban pénzjegy. Papír, acélmetszet. Készítette: Dafort, Bald and Co. New York&Philadelphia. 2nd February 1852. Szövege angol nyelven. A felső sarkokban korona nélküli díszes magyar címer és értékjelzés. Középen az eltiport szabadságharc allegóriája, alatta: Hungarian fund, majd angol nyelvű szöveg Kossuth Lajos aláírásával. Jobb oldalon a számozásnál halvány tintás szám: 10408. Alul bal oldalon Kossuth alakja, átellenben allegorikus nőalak, Pallas Athéné. A pénzjegy mérete: 19×10 cm.

Kossuth 1851-ben Amerikába emigrált a török száműzetésből. Még ebben az évben, New Yorkban született meg az 1, 5, 50 és 100 dolláros kölcsönjegy nyomtatásának terve, majd ezeket 1851. december 15-én Dafort, Bald and Co. New York and Philadelphia cégnél rendelte meg. Ezek 1852-es keltezéssel kerültek felhasználásra.

Egy közös, modern, üvegezett fakeretben, paszpartuval. Verzójára 176. sorszámmal aukciós cédula angol nyelvű kézírással a fenti két tételről: Kossuth-portrait gift of Trudi 1981, dollar note Purchased Fr. Mihályi 1967.
