A cím jelezve 4 nyelven (német, magyar, olasz, cseh) a kép 4 oldalán, az alkotó Vinzenz Katzler (1823–1882) osztrák festő, grafikus, jelezve jobbra lent. A képfelirat dátuma téves. A metszet Ziegler, Anton: Vaterländische Bilder-Chronik aus der Geschichte des österreichischen Kaiserstaates: von seinen ältesten Bewohnern bis auf die gegenwärtige Zeit / nach den besten Hilfsquellen bearb. u. d mit Original-Handzeichnungen ausgestattet von -- (Wien, 1850. Benko) 4. kötete 2. részének 44. képe. A második rész az 1848–1849-es magyarországi események leírását tartalmazza, 28 városképpel (Buda, Buda és Pest, Pozsony, Prága, Bécs, Belgrád, Triest, Graz, Innsbruck stb.), valamint 56 történelmi életképpel és csataképpel illusztrálva.

The sight of the army fighting against the backdrop of the majestic cityscape places the viewer right in the thick of the siege. The siege of Buda marked the climax of the spring campaign of the 1848–49 Revolution and War of Independence, and the recapture of Buda Castle remains one of the most glorious moments in Hungarian history.
The title is provided in four languages (German, Hungarian, Italian, and Czech) along the four sides of the image. The date on the caption is incorrect. The print is plate number 44 from the second part of Anton Ziegler’s Vaterländische Bilder-Chronik aus der Geschichte des österreichischen Kaiserstaates (Patriotic Pictorial Chronicle from the History of the Austrian Imperial State), published by Benko in Vienna, 1850. This second part contains a description of the 1848–1849 events in Hungary, illustrated with 28 cityscapes (including Buda, Buda and Pest, Bratislava, Prague, Vienna, Belgrade, Trieste, Graz, Innsbruck, etc.), as well as 56 historical genre scenes and battle paintings.
