Castore Durante 16. századi itáliai tudós volt, jelen műve híres herbáriumának második kiadása, kibővítve a végén található 110 fametszetből álló sorozattal, amely az első kiadásban (1585) nem jelent meg. A címlapon és a végén fametszetű nyomdászjelvény, 2 fametszetű portré a cím hátoldalán, 965 fametszet a szövegben, és 110 hozzáadott fametszet 10 lapon a végén. A növények leírását, valamint orvosi felhasználásukat és gyógyító tulajdonságaikat tartalmazza. A műben részletesen ismertetett növények Európából, valamint Kelet- és Nyugat-Indiából származnak, és információkat tartalmaznak arról, hogyan lehet őket azonosítani a bennszülött környezetükben.

Későbbi félbőr-kötésben. A 27-36. oldalak javítva, némi szöveg, és metszetveszteséggel. Elvétve ázásnyomokkal, különben a lapok jelenetős része szép, tiszta. Ritka mű.

Castore Durante was a 16th-century Italian scholar. The present work is the second edition of his famous herbarium, enlarged by a series of 110 woodcuts at the end, which did not appear in the first edition (1585). Woodcut printer's mark on title-page and end-page, 2 woodcut portraits on verso of title, 965 woodcuts in the text, and 110 additional woodcuts on 10 leaves at the end. Includes a description of the plants and their medicinal uses and properties. The plants described in detail in the work are from Europe and the East and West Indies, and include information on how to identify them in their native environment.

In a later half-leather binding. Pages 27-36 repaired, with some loss of text, and also affects one or two woodcuts. Occasional water marks, otherwise most of the pages are nice and clean. A rare work.
