Alexander Petőfi's Abschied vom Elternhause.

Jelen litográfia Munkácsy Mihály 1866-os olajfestménye alapján készült. A festmény számos kőnyomat reprodukciót inspirált, bár Rózsa csak kettőt említ. (Rózsa 28a-b)

A Bécsi Múzeum őrzi ezen könyomat egy szintén Katzlernek tulajdonított variánsát, 1850 körüli datálással, mely természetesen téves. További érdekesség, hogy az általuk őrzött litográfián a Munkácsy képéről ismert kutya nem szerepel, és más egyéb részleteiben is eltér a két kép (Petőfi arca, a szülők és a pásztor kidolgozottsága).

Nagyon szép, erős lenyomat, szélesmargójú, tiszta, restaurált lapon.

This lithograph is based on an oil painting by Mihály Munkácsy from 1866. The painting inspired several reproductions of the stone print, although Rózsa mentions only two (Rózsa 28a-b)

The Vienna Museum has a variant of this lithograph, also attributed to Katzler, dated circa 1850, which is of course incorrect. Also, on the lithograph the Museum possess does not include the dog known from Munkácsy's picture, and the two differ in furhter details as well (Petőfi's face, the elaboration of the figures of the parents and the shepherd etc.).

Very nice, strong impression on restored, clean sheet with wide margins.
