Magyarország gazdagon színezett, réznyomatú térképe. Wolfgang Lazius lapja után rajzolta és metszette Franz Hogenberg.

Abraham Ortelius Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (Antwerpen, 1570) című, több nyelven kiadott, mintegy 40 kiadást megért atlaszában jelent meg. A lemezen többször végeztek javításokat, a számos variáns alig észrevehető különbségeket mutat.

A térkép középpontjában a Duna menti testvérvárosok, Buda és Pest állnak, emellett az egykori Magyar Királyság számos más régióját is kiemeli: a „Cumanoru Campus, Bachmege” (a mai Szabadka) feliratú területen szarvasmarhák és juhok legelésznek, fölöttük rövid megjegyzés, mely a területet elhagyatottnak, de az állattartásra alkalmasnak írja le. A térkép másik érdekessége a Balaton fejjel lefelé fordított ábrázolása. A bal felső sarokban a magyar címer látható, a jobb alsó sarokban pedig dekoratív kartussal díszített legenda ad útmutatást egyes magyar fonémák kiejtéséhez.

A richly colored copperplate map of Hungary created by Franz Hogenberg, based on Wolfgang Lazius's sheet. It appeared in Abraham Ortelius's multilingual atlas, Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (Antwerp, 1570), which went through some 40 editions. The plate underwent several corrections, with the numerous variants showing barely noticeable differences.

The map focuses on the twin cities of Buda and Pest, along the Danube, but also highlights several other regions of the former Kingdom of Hungary: In the area labeled "Cumanoru Campus, Bachmege" (today's Subotica), cattle and sheep graze, with a short note above them describing the area as deserted but suitable for animal husbandry. Another interesting feature of the map is the upside-down representation of Lake Balaton. The Hungarian coat of arms can be seen in the upper left corner. In the lower right corner, a legend ornamented with a decorative cartouche provides guidance on the pronunciation of certain Hungarian phonemes.
