Az Osztrák Hercegség id. Cornelis Danckerts által készített rézmetszetű térképe. A lap szinte teljesen megegyezik Henricus Hondius és Joan Blaeu azonos című munkájával, mégis mindháromnál különböző nyomólemezt használtak, amelyek Wolfgang Lazius regionális ábrázolása nyomán készültek. A példányok a metszet bal alsó sarkában található, armilláris gömbbel díszített kartus alapján azonosíthatók, amelyben a kiadó neve olvasható, ezen kívül a címmező kartusának felső része Danckertsnél kevésbé díszített, és névrajza is némileg különbözik az említettektől. A térképmező közepét keresztirányban a Duna foglalja el, az alul elhelyezkedő – Alsó- és Felső-Ausztria egyesített címerével, felette pedig főhercegi koronával ékesített – kétosztatú kartus egyik részében jelmagyarázat, a másikban pedig a vonalas aránymérték kapott helyet. A metsző a fővárost, Bécset apró alaprajzzal ábrázolva emelte ki, és hét további – a tartományokat (Felső-Ausztria és a már említett egyesített változat Bécs mellett), valamint a környező országokat (Csehország, Lengyelország, Magyarország, Stájerország, Bajorország) jelző – címerrel illusztrálta munkáját. Példányunk hátlapirat nélküli, önálló lapként vagy kompozit-atlasz részeként forgalmazott korai levonat.
Mérete: 355 x 525 (400 x 540) mm. A lap bal oldali széle a térképmező keretvonaláig levágva, ettől eltekintve tiszta, erős nyomat. Paszpartuban.

Copper-engraved map of the Archduchy of Austria by Cornelis Danckerts (the elder). The sheet is almost identical to the work of the same title by Henricus Hondius and Joan Blaeu, yet different printing plates were used for all three, which were based on the regional depictions of Wolfgang Lazius. The copies can be identified by the cartouche decorated with an armillary sphere in the lower left corner of the engraving, in which the publisher’s name can be read. In addition, the upper part of the cartouche of the title field is less decorated than Danckerts’, and its name design is also somewhat different from the aforementioned ones. The centre of the map field is occupied transversely by the Danube, and the two-part cartouche at the bottom – decorated with the combined coat of arms of Lower and Upper Austria and the archducal crown above it – contains a legend in one part and the linear scale in the other. The engraver highlighted the capital, Vienna, with a small plan, and illustrated his work with seven additional coats of arms denoting the provinces (Upper Austria and the aforementioned combined version next to Vienna) and the surrounding countries (the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Styria, and Bavaria). Our piece is an early copy with a blank verso, sold either as a separate sheet or part of a composite atlas.
