Lapszámozáson belül számos egész oldalas táblával és szövegközti rajzzal illusztrált japán merített papíron. Ezek mindegyike külön szerepel fekete-fehér, illetve színes változatban is. Emellett a kötet elején egy eredeti, szignált akvarell is található. Umberto Brunelleschi (1879–1949), olasz festő, illusztrátor, kiadó és jelmeztervező, Alphonse de Lamartine Olaszországban játszódó romantikus regényéhez kifinomult és élénk illusztrációkat készített, amelyek ragyogóan tükrözik a szerző fiatalkori itáliai útján megismert lány körül zajló események hangulatát.

Egyedi, aranyozott bőrkötésben. Az előtáblát női alakot formázó, színes bőrintarziával készült, vaknyomásos kép ékesíti. Kiemelését aranyozott, vaknyomásos, egymást keresztező, átlós vonalak biztosítják, amelyek a háttáblán és a gerincen is megjelennek, utóbbin a négy álborda között kaptak helyet. A bőrnyílásos előzék tükre zöld bőrből készült. Ezen aranyozott léniákkal rombusz- és háromszög alakú mezők kerültek kialakításra, amelyek közül néhányat különböző színű virágmotívumok díszítenek. A dupla francia előzék első szennylapja elöl zöld moaré selyem, hátoldala és a második szennylap egyedi színezésű papír. Az eredeti illusztrált, színes papírborító bekötve. A könyvtestet körül aranymetszés ékesíti. A kötet védelmét félbőr, álbordás pallium és merített papírral borított tok biztosítja. A kartontok élén szignált: G. G. Levitzky, 1931. This is is one of the 35 deluxe copies, numbered 23. With an original signed watercolor and numerous full-page plates and text illustrations, all in color, each is also present separately in both black-and-white and color versions. Italian painter, illustrator, publisher, and costume designer Umberto Brunelleschi (1879–1949) created refined and vibrant illustrations for Alphonse de Lamartine’s romantic novel set in Italy. His images brilliantly evoke the atmosphere surrounding the young woman whom the author encountered during his youthful Italian journey. Printed on Japanese handmade paper. Bound in a unique gilt leather binding. The front board is adorned with a recessed leather inlay depicting a female figure. Its emphasis is achieved by gilt blind-tooled intersecting diagonal lines, repeated on the back board and spine, where they appear between four false raised bands. The doublure panel of the leather onlay endpaper is executed in green leather, tooled in gilt to form lozenge and triangular compartments, some enriched with multicolored floral motifs. The first free endpaper of the double French endpapers is green moiré silk; its verso and the second free endpaper are specially colored paper. All edges gilt. The volume is preserved in a half-leather chemise with false bands and a matching slipcase. A unique, beautiful copy. Signed on the edge of the cardboard sleeve: G. G. Levitzky, 1931.

Les superbes illustrations du peintre et illustrateur italien Umberto Brunelleschi (1879–1949), raffinées et vives, transmettant la douceur et la luminosité propre à l'atmosphère romanesque, reflètent à merveille l'Italie et la fille napolitaine que le jeune Lamartine a connues lors de son séjour.
Reliure unique en cuir doré. Premier plat orné d’un encastrement en cuir en creux représentant un personnage féminin, mise en valeur par des filets diagonaux entrecroisés, dorés et estampés à froid, repris sur le second plat et le dos, apparaissant entre quatre faux nerfs. Doublure du contreplat en cuir vert, doré aux petits fers formant des compartiments losangés et triangulaires, certains enrichis de motifs floraux polychromes. Première garde des doubles gardes en soie moirée verte; son verso et la seconde garde en papier spécialement teinté. Tranches dorés. Avec chemise demi-cuir à faux nerfs et étui assorti. Très bel exemplaire. Signé sur le bord de la pochette en carton: G. G. Levitzky, 1931.
