Philipp Clüver (1580–1622) német humanista, a történeti földrajz egyik megalapítója, Danzigból származott. Főműve egész Európában ismert, még a XVIII. században is újranyomott Introductio in universam geographiam („Bevezetés a földrajzba”) című kézikönyv, amely számos térképet is tartalmazott. Az „Introductio”-t 1624 és 1729 között legalább 17 alkalommal adták ki.

Philipp Clüver (1580–1622), a German humanist from Danzig, is regarded as one of the founders of historical geography. His principal work, Introductio in universam geographiam (“Introduction to Geography”), gained widespread recognition across Europe and continued to be reprinted well into the 18th century. Between 1624 and 1729, the Introductio was published at least 17 times and included numerous maps.
