Első kiadás, amelyet Bona Sforzának, I. Zsigmond király második feleségének, Lengyelország királynőjének és Litvánia nagyhercegnőjének ajánlottak, aki 1557-ben halt meg Bariban. A mű rövid, de jelentős nemzetközi sikert aratott: 1583-ban Párizsban jelent meg francia, 1595-ben pedig angol fordításban.
A mű a nemesség modern fogalmának meghatározására összpontosított, a barii arisztokrácia kulturális kontextusából kiindulva.
Ahogy R. Girardi fogalmaz: "Bari kultúrtörténetében [...] ez az első fontos irodalmi mű [...] Egy kirándulás története a városból: három nap társas kikapcsolódás egy vidéki palotában, Bari környékén. Rézmetszetű díszcímlap architekturális kerettel és allegorikus alakokkal. A címlapon korabeli tintás feljegyzések, melyek a metszetet nem érintik. Világoskék, vászonnal borított dobozban. A doboz belsején és a könyv első borítójának belsején Peter Stewart Young ex libriss vignettája.
Korához képest kiváló állapotban lévő ritka mű, tiszta, ép belívekkel. Későbbi papírborítóban, a gerincen tintás felirattal, felül sérült.
A work focused on the definition of the modern concept of nobility, set in the cultural context of Bari's aristocracy. As Girardi puts it: "In the cultural history of Bari... [this is] the first important literary work [...] A tale of a trip out of town: three days of convivial leisure in a palace in the countryside of Bari. A tale whose protagonists are a group of young people, painted in the colours of the group of Boccaccio's Decameron... Rare work in excellent condition for its age, with clean, intact leaves. In later, decorated paper covers, with title in ink on spine. Spine damaged at top. In light blue, cloth-covered box. Contemporary ink inscriptions on the copper-engraved title page, not affecting the illustration. Ex libris vignette by Peter Stewart Young on the inside of the box and the inside of the front cover.
