Johann Baptist Homann's finely engraved, hand-coloured map of the Ottoman Empire spans from Tunis to Arabia, encompassing Greece, Arabia, Turkey, and Palestine. It features detailed depictions of the Arabian Peninsula and includes an elaborate decorative title cartouche in the bottom left, set within a stone slab and adorned with figures representing the Eastern and Western worlds.
Homann (1663–1724) was a renowned German engraver and publisher who, along with his family, became one of the most celebrated German mapmakers of his time.
