Vincenzo Maria Coronelli a 17. század végének egyik legjelentősebb és legbefolyásosabb térképkészítője volt. Coronelli Velencében kezdte pályafutását, majd XIV. A fine chart depicting the Mediterranean coastline of part of Granada and North Africa, featured in Volume 1 of Coronelli's Corso Geographico, published in Venice.

The chart illustrates the coast of Granada, stretching from Malaga to Carboneras, along with the adjoining coastline of North Africa.

This nautical chart appears to be derived from the one originally issued in 1663 by Francesco Maria Levanto in his Prima Parte dello Specchio del Mare, which details the ports, shores, bays, islands, reefs, and shallows of the Mediterranean.

Vincenzo Maria Coronelli was one of the most significant and influential mapmakers of the late 17th century. Beginning his career in Venice, Coronelli was later invited by Louis XIV to Paris to create a monumental pair of globes, considered among the most renowned cartographic achievements of the 17th century. During his time in Paris, Coronelli collaborated extensively with J.B. Nolin, granting him access to the finest French maps at a time when France was emerging as the leader in mapmaking. This access allowed Coronelli to produce some of the most accurate maps of his era, blending the best available geographical knowledge with his exceptional engraving skills.
