A kép a Felső-magyarországi Drégelypalánk legrégebbi ábrázolása. Jól kivehető a magas tornyú templom körül a fallal körülvett vár és két kaputornya. A vár mögött két hegycsúcson, Nógrád és Drégely várát felirat jelöli. Ez utóbbit Szondy György és alig 150 főnyi őrség védte mindhalálig. A jobb alsó sarokban keretben: „Communicauit 1617, Georgius Houfnaglius acceptum aliundé A0 1617.”

Nagyméretű színezett rézmetszet, hátoldalán latin nyelvű ismertető szöveggel és 39-es lapszámozással.

The picture is the oldest depiction of the Drégelypalánk in Upper Hungary. It shows a castle and two gate towers surrounded by a wall around the high-towered church. The castle of Nógrád and Drégely is marked by an inscription on two hilltops behind the castle. The latter was defended to the death by György Szondy and a guard of barely 150 men.
