Buda és Pest kézzel színezett rézmetszetű látképe. A kép Leunclavius Neuwe Chronica című munkájának (Frankfurt am Main, 1595.) fametszete alapján készült, kis változtatásokkal. Braun-Hogenberg Civitates Orbis Terrarum című munkája VI. kötetének 30. lapján jelent meg (1617). Hátoldalán latin magyarázó szöveg. "Communicauit Georgius Houfnaglius Anno 1617."

Buda 1541-ben került török kézre, és 1686-os felszabadításáig vilajet székhelye volt. A kép előterében a fallal övezett Pest, mellette a budai pasa és egy katona alakja látható. Jól kivehető a hajóhíd és a gellérthegyi erőd is. Nem tekinthető teljesen hitelesnek az ábrázolás, hiszen több kisebb pontatlanság mellett a királyi palota itt kelet-nyugati irányban terül el.

Coloured copper engraving of Buda and Pest, with period colouring. The picture is based on the woodcut of Leunclavius' work "Neuwe Chronica" (Frankfurt am Main, 1595), with minor alterations. It was published on page 30 of volume VI of Braun-Hogenberg's Civitates Orbis Terrarum (1617). Latin explanatory text on the verso.

Buda fell to the Turks in 1541 and was the seat of Vilajet until its liberation in 1686. In the foreground is the walled city of Pest, with the Buda Pasha and a soldier in the background. The ship bridge and the Gellért Hill fortress are also clearly visible. The depiction cannot be considered completely authentic, since, apart from several minor inaccuracies, the royal palace is located here in an east-west direction.
