The map is based on the observations of Count Luigi Ferdinando Marsigli (Marsilli) and several other memoirs. The author is Guillaume Delisle, member of the French Academy of Sciences and the King's first geographer. Published in 1780 by Jean-Claude Dezauche, successor to Guillaume Delisle and Philippe Buache.
