A francia mérnök és geológus, Jean Sébastien Devèze de Chabriol (1792–1842) és honfitársa, a geológus, paleontológus, bankár és múzeumigazgató Jean-Baptiste Bouillet (1799–1878) tollából.

Két gazdagon, kézzel színezett litografált geológiai térkép; az első Carte géologique du gîte des ossemens fossiles de Boulade près d'Issoire címmel, a második egy kihajtható térkép négy szekcióval, köztük az Issoire-fennsík részletes profiljával a Boulade-heggyel, valamint a Boulade és Issoire városokkal (címe: Profil et coupes géologiques).

30 litografált tábla, melyek többek között különböző szarvasfajok, orrszarvúk, vízilovak, nagymacskák stb. agancsait, csontjait és fogait ábrázolják. Több szövegközi, ill. lapszámozáson belül egy nagyobb kihajtható táblázattal.

Modern keménytáblás félvászon-kötésben, az eredeti, díszes papírborítók a táblákra ragasztva. Az ajánlás alatt Bouillet tintás aláírásával. Foltos, az első két levél felső jobb sarkán kisebb szakadás, de a mű többi része, az ábrázolásokkal együtt, jó állapotban.

Exceptionally rare early treatise on the geology and palaeontology, in particular the vertebrate palaeontology of this geologically very diverse region in central France, by the French engineer and geologist Jean Sébastien Devèze de Chabriol (1792-1842) and his compatriot, the geologist, palaeontologist, banker and museum curator Jean-Baptiste Bouillet (1799-1878).

Two, richly hand-coloured lithographed geological maps; the first one is titled Carte géologique du gîte des ossemens fossiles de Boulade près d'Issoire, the second is a fold-out map titled Profil et coupes géologiques, having four sections including a detailed profile of the Plateau d'Issoire with the Boulade Mountain, as well as the towns of Boulade and Issoire.

30 lithographed plates depicting antlers, bones and teeth, and include several deer species, rhinos, a hippopotamus, big cats, etc.
Several tables in text, including one large fold-out.

Modern halfcloth-binding, with the original decorative paper covers pasted onto the boards. Below the dedication, signature in ink by Bouillet. Some spotting; the first few leaves are more worn, minor tear to the upper right corner on the first two leaves, but the rest of the work, including the illustrations, is in good condition. Folio.
