Jakab templom karnagya és orgonistája. A jelen 1599-es kiadvány az első nyomtatásban megjelenő motettagyűjteményének „cantus” szólamkönyve (Bősze Ádám szíves közlése alapján).

German composer and organist Hieronymus Praetorius (1560-1629) mainly composed sacred music. He was one of the first German composers to use the Baroque polyphonic technique (he wrote works with up to 20 parts). From the age of 22 until his death, he was the choirmaster and organist at St. James's Church in Hamburg. The present publication from 1599 is the "cantus" part book of his first printed collection of motets.
