A méltán híres Elzevir nyomda „respublikák” sorozatának 1625 és 1650 között 35 kötete jelent meg. Kötetei egy-egy ország életét (természeti kincseit, éghajlatát, a lakosság összetételét stb.) és rövid történetét ismertették. A kötet szerzője Anders Bureus (1571-1646), a szerkesztő Henrik Soter (1600-45), a nyomdászok Abraham (1592-1652) és Bonaventura(1583-1652) Elzevir.

Kiadói pergamenkötésben. A gerincen tintás cím, a címlap alján névbejegyzés.

The famous Elzevir printing house published 35 volumes of its “republics” series between 1625 and 1650. The volumes described the life of each country (its natural resources, climate, population composition, etc.) and its brief history. The author of the volume is Anders Bureus (1571-1646), the editor is Henrik Soter (1600-45), and the printers are Abraham (1592-1652) and Bonaventura (1583-1652) Elzevir.
