Első kiadások, a szöveg angolul és franciául. Klasszikus, pompás táblás kötetek az Oszmán Birodalomról és a Közel-Keletről, összesen 48 aquatinta-metszettel Luigi Mayer nyomán, finom korabeli kézi színezéssel. A táblák tájképeket és épületeket ábrázolnak romantikus staffázzsal, valamint viseleteket. A második mű 17–23. oldalán Ciprusról szóló rész található, egy táblával a limassoli monumentális válelet-ről. ‘Mayer Rómában született, Piranesinél tanult, és Nápoly Ferdinánd királyának megbízásából készített látképeket Szicíliáról’ (Blackmer 1100).

Helyenként enyhén barnult vagy foltos: 3 tábla és 1 szöveglap kis, javított lapszéli szakítással. Néhány tábla és szövegoldal enyhe nyomdai átnyomódással. Korabeli félbőr kötés; kissé dörzsölt és kopott, a kötésgerincek megrepedtek, a sarkok restauráltak, egy sarok pedig teljesen javítva. Folio. (49,5×35 cm).

First editions, the text in English and French. Classical and splendid colour-plate books on the Ottoman Empire and the Middle East, containing altogether 48 aquatint plates after Luigi Mayer, in fine contemporary hand-colouring. The plates depict landscapes and architectural views with romantic staffage, as well as costumes. In the second work, pp. 17–23 contain a section on Cyprus, including a plate of the monumental vase find at Limassol. “Mayer was born in Rome, had studied with Piranesi and had been employed by King Ferdinand of Naples to take views in Sicily” (Blackmer 1100).

Somewhat browned or foxed in places: 3 plates and 1 text leaf with a small, repaired marginal tear. A few plates and text pages show slight offsetting. Contemporary half-leather binding, slightly rubbed and bumped; joints cracked; corners restored, one corner completely renewed. Folio (49.5 × 35 cm).
