A részletgazdag metszet Belgrád, a belgrádi erőd, valamint a Duna és a Száva folyók látképét ábrázolja, Zimony felől. A várost és az erődöt Zimony (Semlin) várának romjairól, az obszervatórium magaslatáról láttatja. Az előtérben katonák, és helyi lakossok, a vízen hajók láthatók. Színezése az ismert példányokénál élénkebb.
A kép Charles-Joseph de Ligne (1735–1814) belga herceg, katonatiszt és író számára készült. Ligne herceg 1787-ben fontos diplomáciai küldetést teljesített Nagy Katalinnál, 1789-ben pedig Belgrádban vezette a törökök elleni csapatokat. Diplomáciai és katonai pályája mellett kiterjedt levelezést folytatott több európai gondolkodóval, köztük Rousseau-val és Voltaire-rel. Az 1770-es évektől számos művet írt, élete utolsó éveit Bécsben töltötte.

This detailed engraving depicts Belgrade, the Belgrade Fortress, and the Danube and Sava rivers, as seen from Zimony (Semlin). The city and the fortress are seen from the ruins of the castle of Zimony, from the heights of the observatory. In the foreground, soldiers and local residents can be seen, as well as ships on the water. Its coloring is more vivid than that of the known copies.
The painting is dedicated to Charles-Joseph de Ligne (1735–1814), Belgian prince, military officer, and writer. Ligne carried out an important diplomatic mission for Catherine the Great in 1787, and in 1789 he led troops against the Turks in Belgrade. In addition to his diplomatic and military career, he corresponded extensively with several European thinkers, including Rousseau and Voltaire. He wrote numerous works from the 1770s onwards and spent the last years of his life in Vienna.
