Ritka hajózási térkép, amely a Jón-szigetek egy részét (Kefaloniá, Zákinthosz) és Morea partjait ábrázolja, az eredetileg 1664-ben Genovában kiadott „Prima parte dello specchio del mare”. Vincenzo Maria Coronelli a 17. század végének egyik legjelentősebb és legbefolyásosabb térképkészítője volt. Coronelli Velencében kezdte pályafutását, majd XIV. A rare nautical chart depicting part of the Ionian Islands and the coast of Morea, taken from the "Prima parte dello specchio del mare", originally published in Genoa in 1664. This chart was later reissued by Coronelli with minor textual changes and corrections to the maps. Coronelli himself acknowledged that this was not an original work, as noted on the frontispiece: "Enriched by marine charts constructed by the famous captain Francesco Maria Levanto and newly published... without any, not even the slightest alteration: Corrected but with the original..."

Vincenzo Maria Coronelli was one of the most significant and influential mapmakers of the late 17th century. Beginning his career in Venice, Coronelli was later invited by Louis XIV to Paris to create a monumental pair of globes, considered among the most renowned cartographic achievements of the 17th century. During his time in Paris, Coronelli collaborated extensively with J.B. Nolin, granting him access to the finest French maps at a time when France was emerging as the leader in mapmaking. This access allowed Coronelli to produce some of the most accurate maps of his era, blending the best available geographical knowledge with his exceptional engraving skills.
