Lorenz Oken (1779-1851) német biológus és természetfilozófus monumentális természettudományi műve, amely a schellingi természetfilozófiai tanítás legfontosabb képviselőjének gyakorlatilag teljes természettudományos és természetfilozófiai életművét tartalmazza. A Johann Conrad Susemihl (1767-1847) metszeteivel ellátott Allgemeine Naturgeschichte tizenhárom kötetét 1833 és 1841 között adta ki a stuttgarti Hoffmannsche Verlagsbuchhandlung, amit a következő két évben egy képes atlasz és egy egyetemes tárgymutató egészített ki.

Korabeli, egységes, bordázott, aranyozott gerincű félbőr kötésben. A negyedik kötetben a szerző portréjával. Az első kötet gerincének felső része enyhén sérült. Néhány lapon a korból fakadó foltosodással, ettől eltekintve igen jó állapotban lévő példányok. A teljes sorozat ritka!

A 160, javarészt kézzel színezett metszetet tartalmazó, folio méretű Abbildungen zu Okens allgemeiner Naturgeschichte für alle Stände című kötet 1843-ban jelent meg. Korabeli, aranyozott, restaurált gerincű félbőr kötésben, a sarkoknál viseltes. Erősen foxingos szöveges oldalak, de a táblák csak helyenként foltosak.

The Allgemeine Naturgeschichte für alle Stände is a monumental work of natural history by the biologist and natural philosopher Lorenz Oken (1779-1851), which contains virtually the entire scientific and natural philosophical oeuvre of this most important representative of Schelling's natural philosophical teachings. The thirteen volumes of Allgemeine Naturgeschichte, with engravings by Johann Susemihl (1767–1847), were published between 1833 and 1841 by Hoffmannsche Verlagsbuchhandlung in Stuttgart and were supplemented in the following two years by a pictorial atlas and a universal index.
Contemporary half leather binding with raised band and gilt spine. Fourth volume with portrait of the author. The upper part of the spine of the first volume is slightly damaged. Foxing to few pages, otherwise a copy in very good condition. The complete series is rare!

The Abbildungen zu Okens allgemeiner Naturgeschichte für alle Stände, containing 160 engraved plates, most of them hand-coloured, was published in 1843 in folio.
Contemporary half leather binding with restored gilt spine, worn at corners. Heavy foxing to text pages, but the plates are only stained in places.
